In June 2006, FXB began work in China and launched two FXBVillages in Long Chuan, Yunnan, targeting orphans and vulnerable children affected by drugs and HIV/AIDS. FXB works in partnership with the local branches of the Chinese Women’s Federation, which serve women and children in communities across China.
FXB also works in the remote and mountainous Bu Tuo county of Liangshan/Yi Autonomous Prefecture in the Southern Sichuan province. Bu Tuo County is one of the largest and poorest provinces in China, with a population of more than 87 million people. Almost half of the population lives on less than $2 a day.
By the end of 2015, FXB had completed nine FXBVillages in Bu Tuo County. Currently, there is one FXBVillage in China, which serves approximately 500 people.
