FXB USA is honored announce a partnership with Adriana Aristizabal, a former war reporter from Colombia and author of best-selling book “Caught in the Storm of War: Memoirs of a War Reporter”
Adriana Aristizabal provided live coverage of the war between the FARC and the Colombian Government from the frontlines in the late 90s. Her new book is a fascinating insider’s account of the conflict in Colombia. Through these pages, Adriana honors the innocent victims and all the journalists who risked their lives to bring the truth to citizens.
Established in 1992, FXB Colombia’s operations began with the launch of a community center in Barranquilla and its surrounding communities for children and adults negatively impacted by AIDS. The center supported 500 children and their families and trained over 40,000 healthcare professionals and community members on HIV prevention and care. In 2011, FXB partnered with local authorities and introduced its time-bound, sustainable and holistic FXBVillage Model to respond to the needs of households affected by AIDS and extreme poverty in the slum communities of Barranquilla. Ever since, FXB Colombia has directly helped more than 1,500 people lift themselves out of extreme poverty. These families reached economic independence and significantly improved living conditions. Currently, FXB Colombia is implementing one FXBVillage in Barranquilla and one in Bogota.
We are grateful to Adriana Aristizabal for supporting our efforts in eradicating extreme poverty in Colombia. Together, we can create a world where everyone has a chance not just to survive but to thrive. 10% of proceeds from the sale of “Caught in the Storm of War: Memoirs of a War Reporter” will be donated to FXB Colombia.
