Meet Htet, a 19-year-old from Myanmar, South East Asia. Htet, her mother and four siblings live together in Rangoon.
Her mother sells dried fruit at the market with her brothers while her two sisters work at the factory. Htet had resigned herself to the same fate until the FXB team came to her community.
Htet’s life and her entire future had changed. FXB’s one-year training taught her how to design and sew dresses and t-shirts.
The FXB program also provided daily meals and transport expenses, as well as informative lectures on subjects such as human trafficking.
Today, Htet is saving money to buy her own sewing machine and is dreaming of opening up her own store.
“It is thanks to the FXB training that I can foresee a new future. I never thought it would have been possible.”
